Today saw the launch of the Potter Places Treasure Trail. Participants can win one of six prizes. The first prize is a Limited Edition boxed set of 4 gold sovereigns dated 1991, worth over £2,000. Five runners up will receive a limited edition status of The Enchanted World of Beatrix Potter, worth over £500. All winners will also receive a basket of Beatrix Potter collectables worth £100 each.
To enter you need to download the entry details from the special Potter Places web page. This shows the 35 participating locations (all with some connection to Beatrix Potter) and their markers, each of which has a unique punch which you use on your form to validate your visit. Depending on the location, each punch is worth 5, 10 or 20 points, and you need a minimum of 50 to enter the competition.
Hardcragg Hall, with its Beatrix Potter connection) is on the trail and is worth 20 points, giving you a good start. Beatrix Potter was a regular visitor to Hardcragg Hall where she drew inspiration for the Tale of Pigling Bland while gazing out of the window to a nearby piggery.
