The Accommodation

The character room lounge has a feature fireplace with open fire, two sliding sash windows, wooden floorboards and beamed ceilings. There are three large leather settees, mood lighting and seating for up to 10 people. There is a 42” LCD TV with freeview channels, DVD & Video player and an extensive film library plus plenty of books and games.

The beautiful dining room has slate flags, under floor heating, open fire, two sliding sash windows, mood lighting and original character beamed ceilings. The room has a large oak dining table to seat 10 people with sideboard and iPod dock / CD music centre.

The farmhouse kitchen is brand new with the latest electric range style 4 oven cooker and 5 burner hob. There is a large larder integrated fridge, fitted dishwasher and microwave plus plenty of cooking equipment and utensils.

There are five good sized bedrooms, one with ensuite facilities and king size bed, over two floors, with a family bathroom on each floor. All beds have the latest memory foam mattresses for optimum comfort.

Ford House has two spacious and well appointed newly fitted family bathrooms with Amtico flooring, large bath, power shower, W/C and sink.

Outside at the rear there is a large walled garden which is ideal for both children and pets to play safely. There is a quality gas BBQ and outdoor seating and table for 10 people. At the end of the garden is a storage shed for coal and wood.

Ford House is a beautiful double-fronted period property that is situated in the very heart one of the Lake District's most picturesque and sought after villages, Cartmel. This Grade II listed cottage style property sits beside the river Eea, has five good sized bedrooms and three luxury bathrooms to sleep up to ten people.

Recently refurbished retaining original features

Recently refurbished to the very highest standards, Ford House boasts two reception rooms, 3 flat screen TVs, and a brand new kitchen. This historic property has original character beams, real fires and a farmhouse flag floor with the very latest under floor heating system.

In addition to the accommodation shown to the right, there is also a utility room leading off the kitchen which contains a separate 4 drawer freezer, washing machine, separate tumble drier, vacuum cleaner, ironing board, iron, high chair and travel cot. Downstairs there is a large cloakroom and WC with plenty of space for hanging and drying wet coats and muddy boots, thanks to the underfloor heating.

Ideal for larger groups

Ford House is ideal for parties who enjoy good food and drink situated within minutes walk from a Michelin stared restaurant L’Enclume, Rogans Wine Bar and four award winning real ale pubs.

Lake District location

The South Lakeland village of Cartmel, a popular tourist resort, is especially famous for its local horse races and sticky toffee pudding. Ford house welcomes up to two well behaved pets by prior arrangement.

There is a safe enclosed large garden to the rear of the property with outdoor furniture and gas BBQ.

Facilities

Linen

Luxury Egyptian cotton bed linen and soft fluffy white towels are provided (1 hand and 1 bath size towel per person) with complementary toiletries.

Catering

Catering service is available at an extra cost for you and your party for a celebratory dinner or a fully catered option. Please enquire when booking.

Children

Ford House has no age restriction on guests, there is a high chairs and cots for infants. There is a wide selection of children’s games, books, films and toys.

Entertainment

Ford House has three flat screen TVs including a wide screen 42 inch LCD TV with DVD / video players. There is an extensive film library, plenty of books, games and iPod dock / CD music centre.

Pets

Hardcragg Hall does accept up to two well behaved pets. There is a £15 charge per week/part week for each pet. Pets are not allowed into the bedrooms or on the furniture.

Disabled Access

Ford House has level access from the square into the property but does not have any ground floor bedrooms or bathrooms with disabled facilities.

Heating

Ford House is warm with under floor modern thermostatically controlled gas central heating. There are two open fireplace so guests can enjoy a real fire.

Parking

There are public parking spaces in Cartmel square next to Ford House. Further public parking is adjacent to the nearby priory or in the large racecourse car park only 200 metres away.
